How to get to Ist
The island of Ist is connected to the mainland and other nearby islands by three shipping lines. There are two ports on the island, the catamaran port Široka in the southern bay and the ferry port Kosirača in the northern bay. The distance between the two ports is a little more than 1 km.
The boat trip from Zadar to Ist takes between 1 and 2 hours, depending on the line, while the trip from Mali Lošinj takes about 4 hours.
Visit the website of the shipping company Jadrolinija for information about the lines. We also recommend downloading the app Jadrolinija, which provides an easy overview of all schedules and the possibility to buy tickets online.
As for private boat mooring, there are several unmarked places on Ist island (not owned by locals) where sailors usually moor their dinghies for a short time when coming from the anchorage. These moorings are not reserved, but in bad weather, they are not safe either. It is possible to moor a dinghy at Marina Ist for a fee, but it cannot be booked in advance.
